Celso R. Varos

Celso R. Varos age 75, a resident of Valdez, passed away unexpectedly October 5, 2023 due to a cardiac event.

He was preceded in death by his parents Filemon and Sobeida Varos; brothers Orlando Varos, Benito Varos and sisters Adelaida Varos Vigil and Annabelle Varos Montoya.

Celso is survived by his wife Priscilla Sisneros Varos; daughter Linda Varos Alford (Rick); grandsons Ricky Alford and Jaden Alford; brothers Elizario Gilbert Varos (Priscilla) and Fidencio Varos; sisters Augustina Martinez (†Rolando), Patsy Varos and Catalina Muniz (Deciderio); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

The Family would like to extend a special acknowledgement to Johnny Sisneros his brother-in-law for comforting Celso in his last moments and Deacon Jerry Quintana of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A special thank you to Joaquin Gonzales, DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.

Rosary will be recited on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 6pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with burial to follow at the Valdez Cemetery.  A reception to honor Celso will take place after the burial at St. Joseph’s Hall.
