Carole Jean Becker

Carole Jean Becker, age 72, of Taos, passed away March 3, 2021, in her home.  Carole Jean Becker was born in Fairmont, West Virginia in 1948. She was first of her family to attend college. She was an enthusiastic educator and a constant seeker of knowledge. In her twenties, she moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to run a successful clothing store with her siblings. This is where she met Steven Becker, her husband of 47 years. She was full of life and adventure, traveling all over the world including India, Pakistan and Brazil. She was a lifelong student of yoga and spiritualism. Despite being a world traveler, her greatest adventure was raising four daughters and being a loving grandparent of five.  She died peacefully at home in Taos, surrounded by her family on March 3 at 3:33 PM.  Carole is survived by her sisters, Penny and Jeanne Lou, her husband, Steven Becker, and her daughters, Lela, Hannah, Grace and her husband Jeff, and Mary. Carole was grandmother to Kayleigh, Vivian, Meadowlark, Ellis and Francesca. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Margaret McLinden, her parents, Mary Martha and Carl Shuck, and her siblings, Roy “Rusty” Shuck, Carl “Mikey” Shuck, and Ralph “Brother” Shuck.  A Celebration of Carole’s Life will be held at a later date.
