Alfirio H. Montoya

It is with great sadness that the family of Alfirio H. Montoya, 84, of Arroyo Seco NM, announce his passing on Monday, February 19, 2024.  He was born to Victoriana Montoya in Arroyo Seco.  At the age of 19, Alfirio joined the US Army during the Cold War Era and was stationed in Bamberg Germany.  Once he was honorably discharged from the US Army, he worked as a farm hand and lived in many different states.  After many years of being a farm hand, he decided to earn a certification and work as a Pharmacy Technician.  Eventually, Alfirio decided it was time to retire and would come back home to Arroyo Seco.  During his retirement years, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends on a regular basis.  Alfirio is preceded in death by his mother Victoriana Montoya, stepfather Jose Beli Rael, grandparents Jose Ignacio Valencia and Eulogia Valencia, aunt Eufelia Abeyta whom he considered a second mother, brother Alejandro Elisio Montoya and sister in law Ella Mae Montoya.  Alfirio is survived by his brothers Luis Montoya of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jose Valencia (Rebecca) of Llano Quemado, NM, good friends Sofia Flores-Smith and Rosella Fernandez and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
