Paul H. Martinez

Paul H. Martinez age 73, a resident of Valdez, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on August 12, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his grandson Nikolas Martinez; parents Juan Francisco and Angelina Martinez; and niece Sarah Michelle Gonzales.

Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  At the very young age of 14, Paul started to work and later became the store owner and successful business owner of Paul’s Men’s Shop.  Paul loved his entire family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Sylvia Martinez; children Juan Francisco Martinez (Parker), Maria Martinez, Pablo Martinez and daughter Juanita; grandchildren Pablo Carlos Martinez, Diego Antonio Martinez; siblings Rebecca Duran (Tomas), Virginia Valdez (Adelmo), Berlinda Gonzales (James), Moises Martinez (Dolores), Stella Gallegos (Johnny), Richard Valdez (Celeste), and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Friday August 21, 2020 at 6pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  Due to COVID restrictions, only 50 people will be allowed to attend and facemasks are required.  Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday August 22, 2020 at 10:00AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Arroyo Seco with burial to follow at the Valdez Cemetery.
